Elevating Body, Thoughts, and Mood
A jumping site not at all CrossFit, but it makes us smile.
No intense words today, no deep thoughts — there’s enough of that mood everywhere. Instead, just breathe and live.
Do stuff that makes you smile today. Jump in your warm-ups, laugh at the stupid stuff in life, let go of things that are needlessly dragging you down. Free yourself from garbage — real and emotional — that you simply don’t need in your life. It’s going to feel like you took 50lbs off a hang power clean.
Be light. Jump higher. Enjoy.
Thanks Sue! They were a gift from my lovely lady-wife. I am not ashamed to say that did feel a little sexier wearing them. If anyone wants to bite my mad stylz yo (see what I did there, I intentionally misspelled the word 'styles' and added 'yo' thus granting me a some street credentials, or 'cred' fo' short) (oh, I did it again by substituting 'fo' for 'for'!)(sorry, I can't help myself, it all comes very naturally to me) - anyway, they can be purchased here. Beery, it might be best that way, Derek keeps telling me about something called a "blood choke". In the immortal words of Sue: "don't poke the bear" So yeah, I am loving this week! Extra great vibe going on at CFW, people are killing it left and right, and the weather is perfect. And now, to completely destroy the street cred I earned above and then-some: Seacrest OUT!
We all need to take a moment to recognize Nate's amazing lifting sox! Padded shins, a little lifter logo and the tag line,"My house" on the band around the top. They couldn't be cooler. Props too to Marie who killed it with a 157 lb deadlift... that's what, 3x her body weight? And to Mary "I hate Burpees", who attacked her 30 reps with a newfoud strategy and determination. It think those purple socks have magic in them, Mary...
Dammit, I should have known Sue wouldn't be doing bunny hops with her calf and I was unsure of Melissa because that's only an 8# ball, but Nate's new foot apparel is unmistakable. Oh, and as we're encouraged to discuss the workout in the comments; I'm still a little peeved Derek beat me by 1 second... To add to the situation we were facing each other during the burpees so I actually got to watch him finish his last rep whilst in the bottom of my last burpee. We shall do battle once again this evening then I'm due for a rest day. And DLs make my back sore.
