Lisbeth’s Bookshelf: July, 2016

Lisbeth Books, What Lisbeth Reads

Every morning, shortly after waking, I read passages from seven books. I don’t read more than a page or a chapter, just long enough to catch something to ruminate upon, but not long enough to get me lost. It’s morning, and I’ve got stuff to do!

This routine takes me two cups of coffee, or about 35 minutes in real time. It’s an energizing and thought-provoking start to my day. Combine this with a 5-minute meditation session on the Simply Being app, and I am good to go!

You may already know this, but while reading, I usually take a quick photo and post it to Instagram. So, check here for excerpts from these books!

Here are the books I’m reading this July, in the usual order in which I read them. (Click the titles to explore and buy them!) I share these titles because I am enjoying them, and I hope you enjoy them as well!

1.) “A Year of Miracles” by Marianne Williamson

2.) “The Language of Letting Go” by Melody Beattie

3.) “Tears to Triumph: The Spiritual Journey from Suffering to Enlightenment” by Marianne Williamson

4.) “Top Dog: The Science of Winning and Losing” by Po Bronson and Ashley Merryman

5.) “TED Talks: The Official TED Guide to Public Speaking” by Chris Anderson

6.) “Dietland: a Novel” by Sarai Walker

7.) “Contagious: Why Things Catch On” by Jonah Berger
