Water In The Well

There's no water in that well.

That statement struck me the other day.

It was used in a manner to mean "Why would you go looking there?" Like if you're looking for water, why would you go to a dry well?

Think about it.

We're all looking for water, for sustenance, for food of some sort: to feed your mind, your head, your spirit. It's why you're here, right now, reading this. We are all searching.

I'm a hope junkie. I look for a fix constantly – words, music, thoughts, energy – hope in some form, some way to keep sparking the fire in my heart, the drive in my soul to carry on, to persevere, to keep going in the dark when it seems the light is so far away.

I need hope like I need water to live. Or air to breathe.

The Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison once said: "If there's a book you really want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."

This blog right here is the book I want to read: The Book of Hope, which is really the book of fitness, or the book of finding your way through movement.  The book of carving your own way and reclaiming your body and life.

There is water in this well.

But if you find yourself in a place where there is no water? Get out of there.

Some folks get their pleasure out of trying to drain the well. This is not useful. So just don't go there.

Go to the wells with water.

You wouldn't eat garbage, so don't put it in your head.

Improve your thoughts, your spirit, your life.

Lift your life and the lives of everyone around you.
