Enjoying, Not Merely Enduring

This is going to sound insane, but my entire mindset for the Open this year is summed up in one word: Relax.

Honestly. Seriously. Totally. At least that's what I'm going to try to do.

I've put so much pressure on myself in recent years.

Work, home, CrossFit. Pressure, pressure, pressure. Almost nothing and no one (except for my children) have met my expectations or my standards. That way of life wears on you after a while.

So, I'm breathing this year -- at work, at home, in my personal life. And that also means I'm taking each workout as it comes. Each Friday morning at 6am for the next five weeks, I'm going to tackle the Open workout of the week. Some weeks, I might have to modify the workout. And if that happens, I'm going to be okay with that too. As long as I'm healthy and I'm trying, my goals will be met.

You won't find me high on the leaderboard this year, but you will find me smiling.

I'm going to enjoy life, not merely endure it.

Cheers, my friends—and may we all learn something about ourselves on this trip!
