Taking It Into The Barrier

At some point, you're going to veer off the road and into the barrier. Into the messy and painful parts of your training or your life.

In an instant, you'll go from thinking you have everything figured out to BAM! Dead stop. Glass all over. And where is all this blood coming from?

You crashed.

It happens to all of us. Even those of us who appear to be unblemished, we nurse scars and unhealed pain. If you look closely, you'll see that we're still flinching, but maybe we don't cry aloud anymore.

I'm not here to point out the wreckage or assess blame.I'm here to remind you that what you do after a crash is important.

Pay close attention because the moment after impact is often where you'll learn the most.

About you, about your mistakes, about your shortcomings, about what you did well and what you screwed up. About what you could have done better, and what you should not have worried about because it didn't matter.

Listen, really listen.

Here is where you either start accelerating towards success, or you stomp the accelerator towards your next wreck.

Learn  ... so you can drive past the same crash point next time and go even farther.
