You Don't Need To Be Fixed

I won't fix you ... because you're not broken.

You were born beautiful. The world made you forget that.

Tried to mold you like the others, but you know better now. You know you are strong and lovely and tenacious. You found your heart and your soul.

But nothing will be easy, not now. Not even because you know that you were born beautifully strong.

You will have to fight. Every day. Sometimes every hour, every minute, every breath.

Sounds exhausting, right?

It is, but what else is there? To give up? To surrender? To say "this is too hard" and to walk away?

You wouldn't do that with the barbell. You wouldn't do that with your kids, or your partner. At least I hope you wouldn't. There are, I suppose, plenty who do that. But I don't think you're like them.

I know you want better. I know you want excellent, stupendous, outstanding. And you want it all the time. There's nothing wrong with that—and don't ever let anyone tell you that there is.

The "good-enoughs" of this world are just tired souls who gave up. Don't be them.

Be the lost soul who's still trying to find the trail.

Pick up the bar. Pick up your life.

Lift weight, lift yourself, lift something, lift someone.

Part of the joy and the burden of being beautiful is sharing that beauty with the world. Get used to it.

But you don't need to be fixed. You just need to keep moving.
