Drop The Memories That Do Not Serve

Lisbeth Essays, Mindset

My best advice to you today is this: drop the memories that do not serve.

Drop them fully. Erase them from your mind. Keep no historical record. Free yourself.

  • No one from the Smithsonian will come knocking at your door.
  • No one will know that you stopped remembering how mean people made you cry.
  • No one will care that you deleted from your memory names used in angry moments.

Nobody needs that bullshit living in their head.

If a memory does not serve you in some way, if it does not help and only hurts, why keep it? There is no need.

We cling to so much that does not help. We pile our mental attics with suitcases and boxes and baskets of memories. We think we are saving but it’s all just a big fire hazard.

Strike the match and let it burn.

How do you feel? Lighter? Happier?

You need only the warm splash of human kindness. It’s all you ever needed, but it’s so easy to forget that.

Don’t forget it now. Focus on the love and feel it settle on your soul like water drops from a sprinkler. Soak it all in. Life can feel so good if you let it.
