We all need something to aim for.
A target. An ideal. A goal.
People spend a lot of time saying goals should be reasonable and realistic. And, most of the time, I agree.
But not today.
I’m only interested in dreaming big today.
Because here’s the problem: When we use words like “reasonable” and “realistic”, what happens? We dream small. We keep our hopes in check. We barely stray out of our comfort zones. Safe … but boring. Unexciting. Our pulses barely rise above normal.
F*** normal.
I’m dreaming big today.
I’m tacking a photo up on the wall and I’m aiming for a new level of fitness, that kind of body, that kind of strength. Life needs to be like that old stupid Bon Jovi song: “It doesn’t make a difference if we make it or not/We’ve got each other and that’s a lot for love/We’ll give it a shot.”
Pick a new goal today. Pick something you want to achieve. Scrawl it on a scrap of paper and tack it up on your wall. Write today’s date on it.
It doesn’t make a difference if we make it or not.
What matters is that we work towards our goals.
Plan big but start small. I’ll see you at the gym.
