A Month Off The Couch

Let me tell you about our man Ray and his son-in-law Barry. Not quite two years ago, they were dragged into CrossFit by Becky, who made them join for a month or (in her words) "You're both going to die."They didn't want to be here, but they came out of love and respect for Becky. Honestly, I didn't think they'd last. They complained during every workout about everything they had to do. Bigtime, moaning bellyaching. But they kept coming. And then, at the end of the month, they decided to come again for one more month ... and then they never stopped. They became two of the most dedicated members we have. Most of the time, we have to tell them when NOT to come in, to take a rest, recover. On Thursday, Ray did the RX'd weight for the workout, the same weight all the big dogs deadlifted. Today, Barry was the fastest finisher in the WOD.Between them, they've lost a whole person. We're talking over 110 lbs.Ray's lost 18 lbs alone since starting the Zone way of eating. Their achievements in the gym, on the scale, in their lives as people, have been nothing short of remarkable.Sometimes all it takes is a month off the couch. Then one month turns into two months. And then two months turn into two years. And your life becomes better, for you and everyone in it. Just ask Barry and Ray.
