Always Home
No matter where I am in the CrossFit world, I always feel like I'm home.
No matter what CrossFit gym it is. No matter what state. No matter what country. No matter what the physical space looks like, no matter what the people look like, no matter who the trainer is. Garage, backyard, basement, or 6,000 sf affiliate. In a CrossFit gym, I always feel like I'm home.
How can that be?
And yet it is.
In a world where conventional thought tells us that cookie-cutter layouts and uniforms will make people feel comfortable, CrossFit bucks that trend. No repeated layout, no uniforms, no standard signage, no franchise. In what some folks might term "the real world" what we do — and how we do it — makes absolutely no business sense.
And yet every CrossFit gym feels like home, even if it doesn't look or sound or smell like home.
But then, maybe CrossFit realized what the military figured out long ago: that home had far less to do with a physical space than it did with the kind of people in that space.
Walk through your CrossFit gym doors today and call out, "Hey, I'm home!"
Feels right, doesn't it?
