The Whole Cookie
No crumbs. Whole cookie.
I have a friend who's been saying this to me for a while, and I'm finally able to hear him.
Every time that I try to make myself into less than I am, every time that I try to squeeze myself into a person that someone else wants me to be, every time that I'm ready to settle for crumbs, my friend tells me that I'm worth the whole cookie.
Everybody should have a friend like that—someone who reminds them that self-worth isn't a bad thing and that we're not selfish people if we value ourselves.
It's okay to say, "I am enough."
Because, honestly, if you don't value yourself and what you bring to this world every day, how can you expect anyone else to value you?
No crumbs. Whole cookie.
It's a simple philosophy. Adopt as needed in your life, by which I mean almost all the time.(And even better yet: be that friend for someone else. Send them this post, and tell them that you love them. You'll make their day, guaranteed.)
