What's the Problem?
I often ask myself this question: What is the problem today?
Today.Not tomorrow. Not yesterday. Today.
Define the problem. Assess the situation. Decide to act or not act.
Life is often as hard as we make it – and if you're at all like me, there's a good chance that right now you are making some situation into a bigger problem than it has to be or wants to be. There's likely something that you are telling yourself a big old story about and that's only prolonging your pain because you are growing that pain instead of seeking to salve it.
But here's the good news: you can decide differently if you want to.
Don't ignore your stories. Don't ignore your pain. Assess: what is the problem today?
Gain focus on your issue. Question what you are thinking. Really question it: the facts, the feelings, the suppositions. Then proceed. Act or don't. But get yourself free of the quagmire of rumination.
And remember: who you are is not who you have to be.
