If you lost her, today might be the day you find her.
You know who I’m talking about—the gal inside you, the one you used to know, the brave and fearless one who was going to conquer the world and do everything her way. What happened to her?
Work. Family. Stress. Life.
And then suddenly it felt like time ran out. No matter how many times you flipped the hourglass, there weren’t enough minutes in the day to call that crazy girl back.
She showed up in flashes sometimes—at the gym, or alone in your car, or after a few drinks at a party. People’s eyes lit up and they wanted to see more of your true, beautiful self … but that was so hard, so risky, so dangerous. Easier to be like the others. Easier to fit in, to not get too risky, to stay safe. Life was hard enough.
And so mostly, that girl was AWOL.
Like many, many people, you settled. It happens. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Those years gave you good things too.
Look at the Earth. Everything looks and seems so permanent … and then there’s an earthquake. A shifting of the plates, a rising of the Earth in places where the crust can no longer contain the stresses and the shifting, and so there is a break. And the Earth breathes again. Yes, there is damage (hopefully not too much) but it is inevitable. This is Nature taking her path.
And so too must you.
She’s waiting. And you can either let her continue to chase you in the night, or you can turn and talk to her right now.
