I Know A Place

Yesterday, Tara ran the whole 400 meter course without stopping or walking. We're proud of her. Next time, she'll run even farther. How do I know that? Because Tara gets what we're doing here. What we are doing. She's already figured out what it took some of us years to learn: We need each other. It's that simple. If we want to achieve, to persevere, to get past whatever roadblocks held us up so far in pursuit of our goals, then we need help beyond our own brains, our own bodies, our own spirits. We need coaches to tell us what we're doing right, what we're doing wrong, and what we can improve even more. We need teammates to help us to keep going even when we want to quit. And we need to learn to listen to all of them. Some people think CrossFit is a solo pursuit. But it's not. It's a team sport. Here, CrossFit is all of us together, working to improve our bodies and our lives. We're not going to let you fail. You're going to have to fight us tooth and nail in order to fail. All of us. Because we're rooting for you to win, even when you're not rooting for yourself anymore. There's an old Staple Singers song with the lyric: "I know a place . . . I'll take you there."This is that place. Get on board. We'll take you there.
