Do-Overs

Do-overs: they only exist when playing kickball in the third grade.

Can't decide whether the ball was in or out of bounds? Don't want everybody to get mad and storm off the field?

Do-over.

Pretend like the play never happened.

Do-overs are for children, for small people who believe that there is a fantasy land of perfect decisions and happy endings.

Real life isn't like that.

Real life is rough. Decisions can be ugly. People are often uglier.

Adults don't get do-overs.

Adults get results and consequences.

What's the difference between those two cats? Results mean you win, consequences means you didn't and you just got to suck it up.

But you don't get a do-over. Not unless you're young enough that you think girls are yucky.

So stop looking for the do-overs in the gym and in life.

Man up. Woman up. Whatever up. Just keep moving and make better choices. Get better results.

Now, who wants to play kickball?
