Your Window
One photo: A million viewpoints.
What do you see? Excitement? Danger? Joy? Failure? Success? Stupidity?
You get to choose how you see everything.
You have that power.
In CrossFit gyms, sometimes we do stupid stuff. I'll admit that. Part of the fun of going to a CrossFit affiliate is getting to do the stuff that "normal" places won't let you do.
Throw sh** down.
Swear out loud.
Work out half-naked with no air conditioning and actually like it.
Talk about each other's a**es in a cool "Yeah, you must be able to back squat a LOT with that booty" way and not a "Hey Creep, don't follow me to my car!" kind of way.
And part of the fun is sometimes what I call Party Tricks.
Just stuff that maybe you shouldn't do or try or that isn't really functional but what the hell, why not? Life isn't delicious without spice sometimes, right? So you find yourself trying a pistol on a KB. Or blind wall-ball. Flying pull-ups. Turkish Get-Ups with a chick. Toes to Flaming Bar. (Okay, I might have made that last one up.)
Anyhow, the point is that not everything is right or wrong, safe or scary, smart or stupid -- and that you get to choose how you view almost everything in life.
So choose well. Consider your window to the world. And even change your view sometimes. See what happens.
Or wrap yourself in bubble wrap, never go out, and proclaim judgment on the world. One life. You choose what to do with it.
