That Letter to You

Dear You,

Listen up:

Social media isn't going to make you smarter.

Reality TV isn't going to make you more fit.

And passive consumption is never going to pay your rent.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

None of your answers will be found on that couch, as amazingly stupidly comfy as it is.

All of the beautiful things will be found through pain.

I wish that weren't true.

I wish that you don't have to learn the hard way, but you do. That's how we all learn.

So, jump off the cliff you've been perched on for so long. Do the things that will pummel your soul, break your heart, and likely leave you knowing a salty, salty taste running down your cheeks.

In the horrible aftermath (and it will be horrible, but you will live, remember that), your broken beauty will shine, and we will all be better for the wisdom of those tears. Trust me on this one.

But, right now, I just need you to get your ass in motion.

Right now, darling. No more fucking waiting.

Love,

Your Future Self
