How You Save the World

How do you save the world?

You save yourself.

I wish it was more complicated than that. I wish I had maps and plans and strategies and a million things to document why I'm right. I wish I had a 24-point, 7-day plan to sell you for a low low low monthly price!

I have none of those things. And I really don't want any of them.

Marianne Williamson says, "As we go, so goes the world, for the world is us. The revolution that will save the world is ultimately a personal one."

Some folks might say that sounds selfish, but it seems like solid advice to me.

See, I can't change you. But, maybe, with a lot of work, I can change myself. And if I can change myself? Then I have more energy to help and less desire to judge.

So, change yourself into who you always wanted to be but weren't quite certain you could be.

Become the kinder, stronger, hotter, smarter, more fun version of yourself you always pictured in your mind. It's not too late to find your beautiful self again. In fact, it's the perfect damn time. Then, when you get to the point where the wind feels fresh on your skin and every sunrise seems a little sweeter than the gorgeous one you just saw the day before? (Everything won't be perfect. It doesn't have to be. Just start.) Rejoice and help the next person.

Like Toni Morrison says, "If you are free, you need to free somebody else."

Help yourself and help the person in front of you. This is how you save the world.
