The Strength You Need Will Come
The strength you need will come. I promise you.
For whatever crisis you're facing – emotional, physical, mental – the strength you need will come.
It just takes a while to get here. That's not the answer you want, but it's the truth.
The strength you need will come but first, you'll most likely try to quit. We all do, at least mentally, in the small moments when we still feel like little kids, so alone and struggling with the world like it's a set of shoelaces we can't tie or a door that's just too heavy for us to open.
But – remember this – it's not that you don't have the guts to see this through. It's that you don't think you have the guts to see this through.
Two very different things.
Why is that important? Because you don't need more time or more support from others.
What you need is more faith in you.
See, the mind can be a punk. It tells you things that aren't true. It listens to your heart and tries to protect you from hurt, from loss, from pain – so it lies to you, or shades the truth enough that you go along with second-best and good-enough.
What the mind forgets is that you're strong enough to handle what may come.
Don't let your mind stop you now.
What you must remember, even in the hard times – especially in the hard times – is that all the beautiful things are on the other side of pain. You'll have to work for them. None of this will be easy. But that's okay. You can do this. You are doing this.
The strength you need will come. It's just waiting for you to believe in you.
Have faith. Believe. And work like a mofo.
