Step Into Your Brilliance
It's okay to be brilliant.
The word brilliant comes from the Latin beryllus which hearkens to "shine like a precious stone."
And it's okay to step into your brilliance.
It's okay to say you're brilliant.
It's also okay to say you're strong or kind or funny or compassionate.
It's okay to say you're a good mom or a good dad or a fabulous friend.
As long as you are those things.
Somewhere along the way we all got fed this idea that we should hide our brilliance, not speak up, not talk about our strengths, just concentrate on the things we do wrong. Don't overshadow anyone else.
That's wrong. Our shine never had to do with dimming anyone else's.
I'm not saying be a donkey and bray about qualities you don't have. I'm just saying if you are a shining light, don't be worried about lighting up the darkness.
That's what you're here for, darling.
So let go of your preconceived notions of who you should be and go with what works for you now.
Because once you light up the darkness, often the world will reply. And when that happens, you will laugh at how beautiful life becomes and wonder why you didn't do all of this sooner.
So go shine.
Step into your brilliance. The world is waiting for you to do exactly that.
